Jubaea chilensis Common name: Jubaea spectabilis. Chilean Wine Palm, Coquito Palm.
Height: 15-20M
Soil: well drained soil. Full sun.
Flowering: small, maroon and yellow flowers in spring and woody, yellow fruits in autumn.
Hardiness: hardiness rating 1/2. This unique palm is not from Asia. However, since this is such a unique palm with high potential for the European market, we think it is indispensable at our website. Chilean Wine Palm is one of the hardiest feather palms in the world. Although it is a very slow growing palm, through the ages it will form a massive, but very smooth trunk. Fruits of Jubaea contain coconut-like nuts, which can be eaten. Without a doubt this is one of world's most remarkable palms. Our Jubaeas are directly imported from Chile, South America.
